  3. The Lewis and Clark expedition was important because they were serching the land the US had just bought so that they could discover new plants, fruits, animals, and many other thing they didnt know about. They also were seeing how much land they had bought. Lewis and Clark had to work together to get through this adventure. They met new people and were introduced to new cultures and customs. Lewis and Clark brought back what they had learned and shared it with many people. They found new waterways and new trade that will help us later. This expedition also led to a way to the pacific ocean ad it created a growing country that we live in today.

  17. America needed to know what was West so the expedition helped a tremendous amount. It let us know is there anyone else out there we need to move? Any new animals that could be dangerous or be of use? Any mysterious land formations or rivers for trade? Sending out Lewis and Clark did help because no one would want to move West if we didn't knew what could be out there. Which would delay people moving westward and mess up many important historical inventions.

  20. The Louis and Clark expedition was very significant because of what Louis and Clark had found in what Jefferson had bought which is now know as the Louisiana purches. Louis and Clark were basically at first trying to find a passage through the united states. On the way they were mapping the new area and talking to the natives they found on their journey, and many of the different tribes were from different cultures and did things differently like crops or how they lived. One of the tribes they came acrost were so friendly that they gave them a guide named sacagewa they led them through the rest of their journey. So all the things they did was that they mapped the new land, meet with new tribes, learned on how to live and how the other tribes lived out there, and then find a passage way all the way through the united states.

Jefferson believed woolly mammoths, erupting volcanoes, and a mountain of pure salt awaited them. All that they found was 300 species unknown to science, nearly 50 Indian tribes, and the Rockies.

  23. The significance of the Lewiis and Clark Expedition was that they established friendly relations with all but one of the Native American tribes they encountered, gathered TONS of valuable information of the land, landforms, people, plants, and animals in the unknown west territory. This information encouraged the people of America to expand westward and promoted trade in the west with the Natives. On their expedition, Lewis and Clark set up relationships that would help America thrive in the later years.

  24. The Corps of Discovery was a very important exploration for the U.S. because President Jefferson had just bought the Louisiana Territory, and it needed to be explored. (Since this land did double the size of the country, you would think knowing the plants and geographical features would be important.) Lewis and Clark's discoveries brought very precious information to the U.S. They found different indian tribes, and they found out which ones were friendly and which ones weren't. They also found MANY different plants and animals. Knowing this helped us know what food there was and what things to look out for. The last thing they discovered was the landforms. The expedition traveled on several rivers. Traveling on these rivers helped the group know what waterways were out there. The expedition found new mountains, plains, and falls as well. The Corps of Discovery brought back information that would significantly help the U.S. know the land that they bought.

    1. Jefferson bought land for $15 million. He was probably curious and asked himself what's out there. He then found 2 eager young men that would explore the west (Lewis and Clark.) The Lewis and Clark expedition was very important because they discovered new species of plants and animals in the west. They also found out about new rivers and valleys. In the end,I think Jefferson said it was worth it.
